How to tell between 1/2 and 3/4 ton hub caps?
Hi Gang,
I have done a search but it is still not clear to me how to identify these style caps between the 1/2 or 3/4 style? Anyone have some pointers? Borrowed this pic from leddzep for sale posting. So, domed in and yellow are 73 and later, domed out and blue are earlier. What about size difference? is it width or depth that determines 1/2 or 3/4? |

Re: How to tell between 1/2 and 3/4 ton hub caps?
Diameter where the cap meets the wheel are as follows
1/2 ton : 10 1/2" or so 3/4 ton : 12" or so 73 and up hubcaps have ochre colored bowties and 69-72 will have blue. 73 and up are stainless where 69-72 are chromed steel. 73 and up aren't bulged out like the 69-72. If it means anything, I like the stainless later caps myself as they can be polished and don't pit like the chrome ones. Good luck with the search, the 3/4 ton 4x4 front caps bring a premium if looking for them. Trevor
