i keep hearing easy off ....the stripes are over the clear coat .....1 easy off 2 laquer thinner just seeing what others used

I used my wife's blow dryer to heat it up and peel it right off. Takes a little while but it worked for me.

Mineral Spirits or Turpentine. DO NOT USE EASY-OFF! It'll jack up your clear coat. That stuff is pretty caustic. The reason why it doesn't eat the "paint" inside the oven is because it's not really paint. It's essentially porcelain that's been baked on at an incredible temperature. It's real tough stuff.

3m has a wheel that goes in a drill that works very well...I use easy off mostly though

I used a razor blade. It worked great and only took of the pinstripe, not the paint. You cant tell it was ever there.

Acetone,
It takes off the pinstripe and evaporates before getting into the paint. Just don't soak it, then follow up with a clay bar for any small bits off paint left,

We used easy off when working on semi trucks to remove all of the pinstriping. Those are usually on urethane, so you have less chance of ruining the paint.

The stripes are usually done with enamel paint, I would try lacquer thinner first to see what it does.

ive used the acetone too and it works ok... just use rubber gloves you dont want that junk getting in your skin

+1 I'm a detailer and only use mineral spirits. I've seen quite a few cars' clear coat ruined from easy-off. Mineral spirits might take a bit longer to use, but is a lot easier on the clear coat.

That's fine for tape stripes but not painted.

That fine for OEM paint. If the vehivle has been repainted it will probably damage the paint.

You can buy it at any hardware store.

Something you need to consider is the condition of the paint under the stripes. If it's all nice and shiny, then taking the stripes off and buffing that area won't look too bad. It "will" leave a shadow.

If your paint is dull the paint under the stripes will have more shine and will be noticeable. Even if you buff it out, your still going to see it.

Personally I have had the best luck with lacquer thinner.

laquer thinner it is lol the paint is not the best but it will do untill its more sunny to paint it im in oregon you kinda have to plan things for sunny days sometimes there is just too much to do in 5 days
