Re: POR15 questions

There are a couple of good threads on here discussing this also. Clean the frame well, apply it sparingly with a brush (use gloves!!!!!!), it took about 3/4 of a quart to cover the frame and all crossmembers, keep it out of the sunlight, let it dry, scuff lightly and paint with black paint to keep it looking good, touch up easily with a spray can, and it is tough too. These are just the most important steps, but search the thread and you will find all the details on POR 15! Read the can also!!!

A quart will do a frame easy. I just finished the frame for my 36 Ford Coupe and the quart did the frame, front axle and rear axle, plus some small parts.

Go to the top of this page and type por15 into the Google search box, click on the circle in front of "67-72chevytrucks.com" and click on the "Google" button. You will find some good posts on the subject there.

If you are going to paint over the top of it you have to put a coat of primer on the POR while it is still tacky.

I hope you have a lot of wire wheels and spare time. Have someone come to your place to blast it. Trust me.

Oh, and a little POR goes a long way. A quart will do it.

Well I am unemployed now.......gotta do something to pass the time. OR I could go look for a new job! Maybe wire wheeling the frame is the motivation I need to get out there and get looking! Then I'll have the money to pay to get it blasted.
