Np 208

My 82 K10 has a NP 208 transfer case. I'm not too familiar with what is good and bad. Is this a weak transfer case or what? Whats the best out there?

Re: Np 208

208's came on K-30's as well (google M1008 CUCV) so I think they are plenty strong for average use. What are your plans with the truck?

I'ts my fun truck/daily driver when the weather gets bad. It's got a 454 so it likes to drink the gas.

Re: Np 208

yiup as stated they came in some 1 tons so it is strong. The weak parts of it is that it is aluminum, chain drive, and the shift fork likes to wear there is one other thing i am forgetting. However it has a great low range. For what you want to do it is good. Your not going to be smashing it on rocks right?
