Leaf Spring Question

I have a 86 Silverado swb with a steel flatbed and I pull a 16 ft trailer and 2 other trailers with it and I am fixin to swap out the rear leafs. It now has 3 leafs per side which would be better 5 leafs or 6 leafs what is ya'll opinion? tks

9 is better!

Only 3 and running a 16' trailer? Add as many as you can especially if towing weight with a trailer, in my opinion. Good Luck!

If you switch the rear springs out (commonly refereed to as 53" springs) for HD versions, it is likely they will be the longer ones (commonly referred to as the 56" springs)...and you will need to move your rear spring hangers on your truck back to the next set of holes on the frame in order to install them.

I wish you were closer to me, I have a set of 1 ton rear springs that I am gonna end up scrapping cause nobody will take them.

I would go 7 or 9.......I think the ones i took off my 1/2 ton 2wd were 7 leaf. see if theres a big truck spring shop around ya, we got one here and they can make new leafs.
