What did you search for? You say 'tucked' but what drop are you talking about? Static drop, laying frame w/ bags? How wide a wheel are you wanting to run?

Re: 20s or 20-18 combo
I was just thinking 6 inch spring drop in the rear, and around 4 inch drop in the front. I was just wondering what size wheels and tires I could run without narrowing or tubbing the rear, or doing any major body work to slightly tuck some 20s, or 20s in the rear and 18s in the front. Im talking just were the tire verly tucks in the fender. If anyone has any pics of what im talking about with there size, or some for sale would be great. thanks

Re: 20s or 20-18 combo
Well, first off Welcome to the forums! And as far as what size tire you can run, is more going to depend on your wheel offset/backspacing, width etc. If you are going with a 18x8 or 8.5 in the front I have seen guys run from 4" to 5" +/- backspacing.
The rear is not really as big of an issue, as long as you don't run huge backspacing. I have seen a lot of guys running 255 to 285 series tires without problems depending on the wheel and offset. There is a ton of different ways you can go with wheels, backspacing, widths, staggering etc and a lot of guys on here have some very nice setups, I'm sure they will chime in. I would start with finding a wheel you like in a matching 6 lug pattern and see what diameters, widths, and backspacing they offer it in.

Re: 20s or 20-18 combo
IMO... the largest set of tires I would consider running would be either a 245 or 255/40-20 up front and a 295/40-20 in the rear. Anything larger than that will require an exact BS requirement for your application.
I'm not much on a staggered combo, so I would either do 18's or 20's but I'm am just one of many different opinions. 6-lug wheels are in short supply for these trucks unless you don't mind having a 6-spoke design, but most prefer a 5-spoke design. With a 4/6" drop you will not have an issue running a 20x8 or 20x8.5 in the front matched with a 20x10 in the rear. You need to consider your suspension setup before you ever consider ordering wheels. Since you're wanting to go with a 4/6 drop you will need to convert to disc brakes up front which will widen your track in the front (changing your BS requirements).

Re: 20s or 20-18 combo
Here's what I have
72 5 lug rearend with 20x10, 5.75" back spacing with 315/35/20. The tires are within about 1/16" of the inner wheel wells when fully dumped on the front I have 20x8.5 with 4.25" b.s. with 255/40/20. I have CPP modular drop spindles that move the front wheels in a little . At full dump with my alignment, the tires touch a little on the inner fenders. Ideally I'd run less back spacing. |

Re: 20s or 20-18 combo
would I have to run disc brakes up front for fitment issues or safety issues. If I if have to convert to disc brakes I might as well, convert to five lug for more wheel options right. What would be the ideal lug patern if i was going to convert?

Re: 20s or 20-18 combo
5x5 is the truck and fullsize (impala/caprice) bolt pattern, and pretty common. Another is 5x4.75, which is the S10, Camaro/Firebird and Corvette pattern. The majority of people use the 5x5, and so do many of the disc brake conversion kits.
