Filling body joints?

I am doing body work on a 1972 Chevy Custom 3/4 ton pickup and have a couple of questions for you fellows. Is there a problem with welding up or filling the joint at the rear of the top of the cab? Can I fill the weld up the joint at the rocker panel and the rear of the cab?

Re: Filling body joints?

I would clean the gap out and fill it with lead, not body putty.
