Found a nice stash of NOS parts
So my parents came to visit this weekend. Just a little back story. My step-dad has a 72 SWB that I've been in love with and wanted for the past 15 or more years. Well after BSing for a while, my step dad asked me what body parts I need for my truck. So I mention one of the things I need is inner fenders. He tells me "Well I have a passenger one that still has the GM sticker on it." He had bought it before a local dealership closed about 20 years ago. Then he proceeds to tell me that he also has a complete set of body mounts and a rebuild kit for his steering column. All NOS parts, Still has the stickers in perfect shape, Still has all the packaging and boxes in perfect shape. I made sure to tell him to hide everything, because next time I'm home, it WILL be in my car. So, I was curious what that kind of stuff is worth. I told him it might be worth try to sell them and get reproduction parts. His truck is a work truck/daily driver, so he would be happy with reproduction parts. That doesn't mean I'm posting them for sale, it's just an idea we had. So all you NOS gurus out there, please chime in and let me know. Thanks ahead of time.

Re: Found a nice stash of NOS parts
I think you need to pay to join the forum if you wish to sell something.
I was warned - just because I was kidding with someone that I would sell them my Panel Truck if they were so depressed about not being able to buy some worn out old Blazer. I was just kidding, you are practically advertising.. What gives = Forum Moderator? |

Re: Found a nice stash of NOS parts
You're right, you do need to be a site supporter to sell parts, post WTB and WIW threads. I am a paying site supporter. And no I'm not tying to advertise anything for sale. I'm just trying to figure out what this stuff is worth to see if it's even worth the time to sell or just use the parts. Plus I thought it was kind of a neat story that everyone would get a kick out of. If it's not, then ok.
Lets not make this take a bad turn. I don't want this thread locked I'm just looking for some info.

Re: Found a nice stash of NOS parts
As a paid member, you are indeed allowed post asking what something is worth (WIW), but it still needs to be in the right place. There is a specific forum for that.

However, someone does need to be a site supporter in order to post a WIW or WTB or For Sale thread. Thats the forum rules. You can ask what something is worth if you are thinking about buying but not if you are trying to sell. The rules are all laid out for you. On another note, nice find man! You might wanna post a WIW thread in that section to get some true advice. Also check ebay to see what they are selling for.

They are definitely worth selling. Have fun on ebay man. Haha. And know that typing it in the search bar different ways will sometimes give you listings that you otherwise wouldn't find. You can find current listings and completed listings too.
