clunking noise while stopping?

lately ive noticed a clunk wn ipress hard on the rake. doesanyone know what this could be? i took off my front wheel but found nothing wrong with my brakes.

Bad u-joints! Do you hear the clunk when you change gears between reverse and drive?

auto trans and i only can reproduce the sound when im braking or backing up real hard

I second that. My blazer was doin the same thing. Replaces the u-joints and we are good.

I'm not gonna lie and say I havent done that before. Forget somthings back there and freak when you go around a turn.

yes i have too. ive yanked out everything not bolted to the truck just to see. i thought it was a caliper sticking ou=r something at first.
