Just thinking out loud, but could you remove your stock mounts - trim off the mount 90 degrees to the bottom of the round part of the mount - then weld in a filler piece flush to the bottom of the mount - flip over and reattach. If you use a bushing it would at least close the gap. I hope you can uderstand what I'm trying to say.

You mean take the stock K5 mount shown, flip it upside down and raise it high enough to meet the cab? Obviously adding some metal to the side that attaches to the frame and filling in the "bottom" side to make it flat?

Good idea.

What do you think about the channel going all the way across?
