NOS 72 grille insert?

How can I tell if the insert is in fact a GM piece and not an aftermarket copy? Are there any GM marking in the plastic anywhere I should look for?

I found a good deal on it, if it is in fact a GM grille.

Re: NOS 72 grille insert?

he also has the outer shell of the grill as well...both in GM boxes but neither piece has a GM number on them thereselves.

I have seen several other supposedly NOS grilles that did not have any GM numbers on them just on the boxes

Re: NOS 72 grille insert?

I have a NOS inner and outer grill for a '72 and neither have numbers stamped in them. There might be GM stickers on them, but no stampings. I say go with your gut. If the guy seems honest and they're in GM boxes I say go for it.

Re: NOS 72 grille insert?

$450 for outer is a great price. They are discontinued. $200 for inner is about right, they are still available and if you can get someone to get you 30% off list, it would be about $200.
