How low could I go before I would have to notch the frame?

I have had better than half a dozen of these trucks lowered 6 inches in the back without c notching any of them. I use ECE springs and do still haul with the truck so they don't get pampered. No issues with bottoming out.
Some guys will say 5 inches is the lowest without notching, but I can only offer my experience and ECE's recommendations.

Ok great. I was actually thinking about doing a 4/6 drop so this is awesome. Do you think I could lower it 6 inches with the stock springs?

You will have to change the springs to do a 6 inch drop.

Also one more thing, what did you do in combination with the springs or was it just the springs themselves?

Kevin is right... 6" rear spring and you will be fine.
Lowered shocks and shock relocators to change the angle of the shock otherwise it will continue to bottom out.
