My wife's 41 GMC
I've been on the board for a little while now, but I've always been on the 67-72 side of things. Lately I've been hanging out on the 99-06 board since I bought my tahoe last month. So I figured it was time to post up some pics of my wife's 1941 3/4 ton flatbed GMC. It was found in a field and restored by her grandpa about 10 years ago. He got to put it in a few shows and won some trophies, but then he was diagnosed with cancer. He lost his fight after 2 years and passed away. My wife's grandma knew how much my wife loved her grandpa and his old truck so she said she could have it. It still live's with grandma but we take it to shows whenever we have time. It's been restored to original, with the exception of the floormat (right now it has some ratty house carpet that needs to go). Anyways here are the only pictures I have on my computer right now, they are from the Oroville Gold Rush Car show last summer. I'll be pulling it out to get it ready soon for this year so I'll have to take more pictures of it.

Ooooh,very nice.Rich bit of recent history.I`m sorry to hear about her grandad.It`s neat Grandmom can still hold it there as a piece of him.His love is still in that truck.I love that it`s a GMC.A very nice GMC for sure.

That's a beauty. The sentimental value is awesome.
Be careful about what floor mat you get. Don't buy one from Toyota.

Nice truck man. And a nice "true to its original use" type restoration with the channel front bumper, etc. If we could blink our eyes and be in 1946-1956 America, that truck would look PERFECT on any country road.

Thanks for the kind words. Her Grandpa passed away about 6 years ago now, seems like I was out working with him yesterday though. We've only had it out to 3 shows since then but we hope to start making it to more. I figure we can enter the 41 in stock/restored, and we can enter my 68 in under construction. I gotta get the 41 out soon and go through the brakes, last time I drove it two of the wheel cylinders blew and I had to drive it home with almost no brakes! Good thing it's low geared and the drive home was almost all uphill! I need to find a floor mat and some hubcaps then it would be nearly complete. I don't know if you guys noticed but the thing everyone comments on at shows is the cable operated turn signal.

I didn't notice the cable operated signal; I'll go back and look.
You can (probably) find that floor mat - as well as the Huck brake wheel cylinder rebuild kits at Jim Carter's, Chev's of the 40's, or Bowtie Bits. Make sure you post threads with pictures when you do that work! EDIT: Oh, now I see it. It's the old semifore type signal arm that comes out from the flat bed head wall. Very cool. Do you know if that was original and he restored it, or did he think it up on his own? Cool. THat would be waay cool on a lowered street type COE to give it more of a connection to its original use.
