Are these parts going to be hard/impossible to find?

I just picked up a 72 GMC Sierra LWB. It is medium green/white with a Medium green/saddle brown interior...I know it's funky!

Is this a strange combo or what? Brown glove box and cluster, pad and dash, seat and carpet...full cheyenne package with the headliner and all.

Anyway, need to put shoulder belts in and it's missing the ashtray.

Any chance in hell I will find original brown shoulder belts?
Any chance in hell I can find a medium green ashtray?

The truck is very original and I'd like to keep it that way as much as possible.

Here is a quick photo I snapped with my phone for reference.

Thanks!

Re: Are these parts going to be hard/impossible to find?

Welcome to the forum!

I like the color combo.

Anyways, you could possibly find both. You can look in the for sale section. If you don't find it, you can always become a site supporter (best $25 you can spend) and post a Want To Buy ad in the for sale section. Or you can spend endless hours trying to find them on ebay.

On another note. Ashtrays are fairly easy to find. But finding one in a specific color gets a little harder. As far as the shoulder belts go, that is gonna be very hard. There are not alot of factory shoulder belts out there to be had and if you find a set, be ready to hand over quiet a bit of money. It was a rare option and alot of others are looking for sets too.

Regardless, good luck in your search.....and how about some more pics of the truck!

edit: Michael beat me to the site supporter thing....

you may go aftermarket for the seat belts. shoulder belts were fairly rare in these trucks and to find even a nice driver set will run you some $. also remember that original seatbelts are old seat belts. they still work great, but new belts (and this is only my opinion) are stronger and safer.

Re: Are these parts going to be hard/impossible to find?

I figured it was a long shot on the belts, I'll find some nice brown 3 points like I put in my 62 caddy with the aircraft style buckles. Gotta keep the kiddos safe!

Just found out that I can't post in the classifieds without being a member...not a problem...I'll send my money on it's way today!

I haven't had time to clean up the truck yet, been driving it too much!
Here is an early morning shot from Sunday. Just bought it friday afternoon, Saturday it had a ton load of mulch in the back and sunday I was allready picking up truck parts with it!

thanks for the info.

Jobe72 - welcome to the site. If you are looking for somewhere to drive the truck this weekend, there is a shine and show in Cedar Park. Several from the board are plannning on attending. I hope to get by at some point, but can't stay the whole time. Here is the information - http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=389758
