Re: Ok need some design advise for my 70
Jeff,
Here is what I did with my 68. Installed a 12" pioneer low profile sub in a custom cabinet behind the seat and made 2 custom kick panel speaker enclosures. I have 2 amps mounted under the seat, 1 on each side. This sounds really good. I plan to cover the sub cabinet with something, havent decided yet what to do. I also plan to close in the cab corners and fill them with insulation.

My kick panels are 6 1/2", the foot e-brake would be in conflict with my setup.
I have a slight problem with my high beam switch, not a real big deal since I don't drive it much at night.

Re: Ok need some design advise for my 70
Speakers under the seat are useless in my opinion. They fire forward the sound is going to bounce off of the front of the cab and mix with the front speakers messing up all the timing. If you want more than just a single stage set up take the time and put them about mid way up the cab corners. If you are going to build a sub box and kick panel why not take a little more time and put them where they will help your system instead of fighting it. Oh and as little room that there is in our trucks, I would just go with a really good single stage and sub. I have it that way in my 2000 extra cab Silverado and most cant' tell that I only have the one sub two 6.5 and two tweeters. You might be surprised by how good it can sound.
