Re: is this possible

If your wanting to make change all the IFS 4x4 stuff from the same model trucks to a 2wd. Good luck. It is possible but not at all feasible. Way to much fab involved. If thats what you want, then swapping frames is the way to go.

Now changing to a Solid front axle is not too bad. but even then starting with a 4x4 makes it easier since you'll already have a transfer case. Pretty much all you will need is axles, t-case and transmission, springs and drive shafts, Not to mention a whole bunch of nickel and dime stuff. Price well that depends. Could be free if you got a bunch of stuff laying around and you can weld. If you aren't capable of fab work and have to hire out then labor will kill you. Parts you gotta find em. Junk yards, ebay, swap meets. You can order kits to mount up the front axle for about 500. That just front springs and mounts. The rest just depends on what you can find em for.

Best bet is to check the 4x4 forum here and talk to some of the guys have done it. Like I said could be cheap or really expensive, just depends on you skills.
