Rocker/spotwelds ?

In reading 1949gmc build thread he showed pics of removing the outer rocker on his new tub. It clearly shows that the top of the outer rocker has spotwelds to the top of the inner rocker/floor. See pics below. (1949gmc hope you don't mind my borrowing your photos.) Both sides of mine were totally rusted away so It was not evident on mine. I had used the factory manual but looks like I might have misinterpreted the drawings of the rocker spotwelds.

Can any of you confirm if this is indeed factory to have the spotwelds along the top of the outer rocker to inner rocker at the door sill?

Thanks

By the way, kudos to 1949gmc on a great build and really appreciate his pics and documentation of the process.

Re: Rocker/spotwelds ?

yes that is factory on all models [blazers, Jimmys, Trucks and Burbs] for the outer rocker.

Here are more step by step pix from a C10 outer rocker install - including the removal of the outer rocker welds to the inner rocker.

Re: Rocker/spotwelds ?

I thought those pics looked familiar.....

No problem, bud. Glad I could help. And thanks for the props. It's been since last Thursday since I've even looked at the truck. I really need to get my ass back out there.

Re: Rocker/spotwelds ?

Thanks for the replies. Just double checking. Fortunately it's an easy fix.
