Getting closer..
Hi all, just wanted to share some more pics of my progess. I haven't posted many pics of the project. Here's one of the grille, which is going to get repainted (black again) I made an insert out of some aluminum mesh I had. The hole you see is for the hood pull. Once I put the mesh in and fit the grille back on the truck I had to figure out how I was going to open the hood. So there will be a stainless "eye" bolt mounted through to the pull bracket and will just stick out far enough for you to put you finger in and pull. I am still debating if it will be permanent.
Has anyone else got an idea of how else I could open the hood without having the hole in the insert. Here is also a pic of a tranny support bracket I had to replace(actually had to make it) on the passenger side. That good old Canadian road salt always find a hiding spot and goes to work. old one, and new one mounted. |
