'68 GMC to Chevrolet Conversion Questions???

I know the front fenders and hood will interchange,... I just had a few questions about the small items.
I have a '68 GMC front clip. (with a few parts missing)
I was wondering what parts will interchange?

1) Hood latch
2) Center grille bracket
3) Lower splash apron
4) Core support (with modifications).

My core support is perfect. No rust under the battery.
What is it worth?
Should I keep it and modify it for the single headlights?
Or just sell it and find Chevrolet core support?

Also the grill is painted silver,... but the healight trim looks like someone painted silver, over a chrome set.
(Silver paint is peeling) Can they be stripped and used on a chrome grille?
They feel heavy like "pot metal", not stamped steel.

Sorry for all the questions.
I don't know much about GMC's.

Hey Keith, as far as I know the hood latch will work, I don't know about the other items. Are you gonna convert to a chevy front end? If so this conversation is over!!!

No,... Ah,... I mean,... I'm asking for a friend. Ha.

Actually,... I have been reading old threads that I found with the search feature,... and I can't confirm the hood latch or center grille support.

The lower splash apron looks like it will work with a Chevrolet grille,... but I don't know for sure.

I trying to figure out what items to keep, and what items to sell.

It works, it just doesn't have a place to attach to the middle/center of the C-10 grill which isn't a big problem.

OK,... between you guys here on the board, the internet, and me getting off my a** and going back out to the garage,... I came up with some pictures.
I dug out a few of my parts and found out what I needed to know.
Also this only pertains to the '67-'68 GMC and Chevrolet parts.

Here's a few pics,...

Hey Keith, I'm pretty sure you can just remove the inner headlight thingamabob on each side and it will work for the Chevy grill.

Re: '68 GMC to Chevrolet Conversion Questions???

My 68 chevy core support was rusted out as usual. I found a nice rust free GMC core support at the salvage yard to my amazement and got it for less than $100. I used the chevy core support to figure out where the headlight screws and a few other things went after I removed the GMC headlight buckets. One thing that I think I missed was the actual holes. I think the holes for the chevy headlights are slightly larger than what was on the gmc core support. So when I went to install my headlights they didn't fit properly. This may also be due to the headlights that I'm using and not the core support. I ended up having to cut the headlight holes in the core support a little larger to get them to fit.
