I am running Long tubes with a 4 1/2inch front and 5inch rear drop and I have to be careful with speed bumps even going up into my garage slight incline the cement is uneven by alittle and hits the collecter,My temp fix is a 1/2inch piece of plywood that I drive up on the passenger side each time I go in and out of the garage. If I knew how to weld I would cut 1 or 1 1/2 inches off each tube of the headders to bring them up, I think thats all I would need.

It's a performance issue. I don't care who makes them, shorty headers are just a step above ram horns.

so my new hugger headers would just be simply like running stock manifolds then ? vs long tube headers? that are causing a problem with lowering our trucks.

I had long tubes before when I had a 4" drop and they just about dragged every place. so I went to huggers and haven't tested them as of yet. but not that I would be out of money cause they was free lol.

Yep... headers are all about scavenging exhaust gasses quickly. Shorty's defeat the purpose.

I have plain ol' Heddman Street Hedders, full length... they tuck up along the frame pretty nice. They're the ones I'll be using when I drop the rear 4" and the fron about 2".

My Dad has the same headers on his 1970 C10 and that thing is lowered 5" in the back, and close to 3" in front. They don't drag...

this is my issue I want the horsepower and no back pressure but then I dont want the headers to hang lower then the frame due to I am going to have 2 1/2 drop spindles and 3" drop coils in front. so that maybe an issue with headers unless I guess I fab my own or someone already sales them to not hang to much below the frame.

I tried Flowtechs on a 1967 C10 awhile back. The thing I didn't like about them is they have a slight downward angle at the very short collector. Made hooking up the exhaust a pain as I had to notch the tube slighty to get them to line up right.

They also dragged on speedbumps after I lowered it.

I had Hedmen's long tube headers on my 72. It has a 3 front/5 rear drop....



I plan on going lower so I changed the headers to Thorley's Tri Y headers....

I also cut the rear cross member to run the exhaust through it....

Here is a picture of them side by side, you can see how much longer the Hedmans are:
