The good, the bad, and the fugly.

The good.
I installed 36 inch glass packs on the GMC today...and it sounds good. I can actually hear teh stereo now! (time to throw away the ear plugs!)

The bad.
I got a fix it ticket this morning...that's why I installed these muffs.

The fugly.
I smell antifreeze in the exhaust and see a puff of steam coming out the drivers side pipe.

HA! "fugly". LOL I haven't heard that term in a while! (for all you clueless dudes "fug" was a juvenile term for "f$%king ugly girl" use back when in highschool/college. Sorry ladies. I said juvenile.)

Hope it's just a head gasket. Last time I saw that it was a crack in a cooling jacket, but of course it was one of those damn 2.8 L engines they installed in the S10s and Crap-o-liers.

Good luck, dude.

Well, I did a compression check today, and the differance was so slight, that my boss said it is time for a mechanic in a bottle.
Hell, if it don't work, I'll have to jerk the heads off, which i would be doing anyways.
A temparary solution for a temparary truck.
Been having crazy ideas of a gallon of bondo and a quicky $150 paint job to double the future asking price.
Shiney paint (let alone matching panel colors) would make it that much harder to get rid of the 'ole girl.

Barrs leak.....good stuff man! I had an externally cracked head on a 283, & dumped a bottle of barrs in....no more leaky! I used it on the plow truck on assembly.......no you dont want to know about reaming the head bolt holes , to make the head fit( that came off the 355)...... d@mn lite weight castings! you couldnt give me those heads, but the eng was cheap from a rolled S 10, with less than 5,000 mi on it. enough ramble, good luck crazyL

heh heh heh...i worked too!
Went in so the police could look at it, they said it was quiet enough...but they want to see tail pips on it.
Got lucky though...they told me I don't need to come back and prove that I install the tail pipes...just told me that I am required to have them.
