Tail Gate Sagging on 1 side

First off, Thanks to everyone who knows anything about chevys, and for responding to posts, helping dum basses like me!

I've corrected two problems; wobbely steering column, and bad a/c fan thanks to this board.

I have a sagging tailgate, almost to the point where it wont close. Do the hinges go bad? Dealer wants $70 for 1! No evidence of a crash. Should I buy 2? Where can I get them for less $$. Thanks

In JC Whitney (yes, JC Whitney) they sell CABLE replacements for the hinges. I beleive they are $14 each side. They are in the same section as the plain replacement tailgate cables.

I have a set and love them. I always hated the hinges anyway, and the cables look so right on there.

Sorry checked my temp folder but I must have deleted the pic. Great deal.

I was referring to the hinges the tailgate pivots on. If you are standing behind my truck, looking at the tailgate, it is lower on the right side than the left. When you compare the gaps at the top of the tailgate, far left and far right, the right side gap is 3 times bigger than the left. I will take a picture and post.
