87 chevy not gettin gas
today i went and got a battery for my pickup put it in and it wouldnt do anything nothing would light up int cab or anything then i dicovered a bad ground fixed it still nothing kept messing with it then finally it started cranking but not getting gas poured some gas in the intake it fired right up so its not getting fuel by itself whats the problem

fuel pump or filter maybe. I'd change the filter and see if the lines are clear, if not then fuel pump. Also is there gas in the tank? maybe the gauge aint working right or somebody could have drained it?

the right tank is full and left is almost full i was thinking a filter or pump too but my dad thinks its the key not turning the pump on but i thought it should no matter what

when your turn the key can you here the pump whine? if not you can hit the tank with a hammer and you might get it to start and move it to where you can R&R the pump. also have you checked the fuel pump relay? it could be bad.

no cant hear anything when the key is on no buzzer or anything but underneath the center of the steering wheel that cover pops off and if i touch that spring to the metal the pump will turn on but thats it

did you hook all of your grounds back up. to the body and any others there may have been.

there was only 2 i saw and i hooked them back up when we first got the pickup the pump didnt work
