Should I or Should I NOT

I have been driveing my truck around for a while now about once or twice a month, The front half of the truck was painted last year and well the bed was not. So as everyone can see my bed is a little darker green I do plan on painting the bed in the future but I do not see it happening any time soon as I am short on funds..So my question is Should I sand down the Bed so when people look at my truck they know it's not completely painted yet Or Should I just leave it the way it is untill I can afford to paint it? Would sanding down the bed make the green a little lighter? Here are some pictures enjoy..

Re: Should I or Should I NOT

i'd just leave it the way it is, why sand it and remove the protection that the old paint gives the sheetmetal// i've never much cared what other people thought of my projects either

Re: Should I or Should I NOT

I'd say leave it. I know that everytime you look it it stands out like a sore thumb but at least its painted. I dont think sanding it down will do anything other than scuff up the clear coat.

The only way to fix it is to paint the whole truck at the same time. Truck looks good though. That is one HUGE air-filter

I say leave it - why do the extra work until you are ready to do it right.

Re: Should I or Should I NOT

I would leave it as it. as others have mentioned, why remove the paint that is protecting the sheetmetal. Roll it like it is, paint it when the funds are right.

Ditto...leave it. It gives it "character" until you have the $$$$. Hey, almost everybody paints their entire truck the same color....tell people you're a risk-taker. hahaha

Looks like your hood needs paint too. If it were me, I would paint it when I get a chance, but the mechanical would come first.

I would have painted the truck all at once but I bought this truck in pieces The front half was already in the body shop being painted and I had to pick up the Tab.. Air Filter What air Filter it's small.

Re: Should I or Should I NOT

Ok Thanks guy's looks like I will be leaveing it the way it is. I just thought if I were to sand it down a little the color would lighten up a bit & it wouldn't be noticed as much.

Another vote for leave it. If anyone says anything just say your trying to decide which shade of green you like best before you paint it all one shade.

Re: Should I or Should I NOT

By sanding it, it would leave a matte/flat finish to the color but it would be a tad lighter. Even polished after sanding, it wouldn't be enough of a change for the time in it. Definitely leave it as is and tackle it when you are ready. Trevor
