my truck is eating Power steering belts??
I have had to put 3 belts on in the last year..they all get stretched out and the steering get jumpy because the belt slips....when its jacked up it turns from stop to stop OK....and the pump is on the stock mount
looking for help...pump or sterring box??? if its the pump I'll hold out since the new motor has a pump on it thanx JEff

Possibly worn pulley or misaligned pulleys.

X2! Its most likely the pulleys not the pump.
Get out your straight edge and check your alignment from pulley to pulley. good luck!

sounds like alignment issues, is your belt too wide for the pulleys? try running the engine and watching to see if anything is bent, or if your pump is moving.

ok guys these are all great ideas BUT
the pump is tight, things are lined, up not bent, and I have been running a NAPA gold belt, seems to be the right width too.. this is why I kinda stumped...

You need a new pulley, that's my guess. When replacing use the proper tool to pull and install it, or the new one will wobble too. Watch it while the truck is running. If there is any wobble to it, there is your problem.
