Disc Brake Swap

I am going to put a disc brake setup from a 72 C10 on a 70 C10. If I want to keep the 6 lug wheels, is there a rotor that will work with the 72 setup without going to someone like CPP.

GMC pauls has them also and are a little bit less expensive. just make sure they are for a 71-72 hub and not 73 and up. as for finding rotors from a door vehicle. . . nope there are no 6 lug rotors that will work other than aftermarket

71-72 and 73-87 rotors are not necessarily different. All 71-80 rotors exactly interchange. Starting in 81, GM went to both heavy duty (1.25 inch thick rotors) and light duty (1 inch thick rotors). The thick rotors were commonly used under Suburbans and heavier optioned trucks. They are the same as the 80 and earlier rotors. My 63 has an 84 Suburban clip under it that uses the thicker rotors.

But, that's beside the point. Like already posted, if you want to swap your 72 front end under your truck you have to either run the 5 lug pattern or buy your 6 lug rotors from aftermarket. There are no OEM application 6 lug rotors to fit your spindles. Shop around, CPP, Early Classic, GMC Pauls and the like are getting pretty competitive with each other now and the prices on the 6 lug rotors get cheaper every year.
