Dome light switches

How do I hook up the dome light switch on the doors to the system that I have now. I have to turn the knob on the light switch to make the dome light come now. I know that under the dash by the fuse box there is a plug that has three wires, 2 to one side of the pug and 1 on the other side that goes to the dome light, can I tie into that or do have to something different. Already put switches in the door. Help please.
Thanks

The dome light works off a ground if you hook the door wires up to the groung wire for the dome light it should work. I would try it with a test light first though.

I have heard the same thing about the dome light being turned on when grounded. Otherwise I can't help you much.

I did have a question though, what did you use for a door switch and how was the install? Thanks

you should be able to use any gm door jamb switch from various models and years. most of them stayed the same to the late 80's early 90's
