Southern Bowties "Chevy Pride" Picnic Saturday May 10
Well the time is growing short, and the picnic is upon us. Is everyone ready for some good Ol' fashioned fun?!
We have the spot reserved same as last year. The place looks great, everything is so green and lush. The weather looks like it will be much better this year. Not near as hot and demanding as last years August meet. I would say that it is going to be very important for everyone to bring lots of film. There are going to be alot of great photo opportunities throughout the day. Also bring lots of water and some comfortable chairs. We also have some fun and games planned. There will be horse shoes available and you are welcome to join in on a friendly game with other car owners. There will also be some games that will have special prizes to be given away. We will have a lug nut toss where you will be able to match your skills against other car nuts, tossing lug nuts into center caps for prizes. Also there will be an all out race to the finish on a custom "Hot Wheels" drag strip, with prizes to be given away. There are going to be some great prizes from some of our sponsers. Painless wiring has donated prizes along with Wayne and the crew over at Lucky's Speed Shop in Garland. So be sure to sign up for the games when you get to the event. We will have a courtesy table set up at the entrance to the pavillion. Here you will be able to sign up for prizes and games. You will get your complementary goodie bag. Aslo don't forget to enter into the Raffle being held for grand prize drawings. The picnic is "Free" to everyone who wants to attend. The only thing we ask is that you bring your own lunch. We will have the grill going most of the day, so bring burgers, hot dogs, chicken or steaks. We will be charging a small fee for the raffle tickets that coincide with the grand prize drawings. You must be present to win any of the prize drawings. But even if you don't enter the raffle, you still have the chance at some really cool prizes. What could be better than that. A free day full of Cool cars, family and friends and the great outdoors. We look forward to seeing you and your family. It will be nice to see some of the old familiar faces along with some of the newer members and members of other area clubs. We would like to remind you that this is not a car show for judgeing vehicles, but more of a time to gather and enjoy the company of some of the metroplex's finest car enthusiast. It is also a time to thank all the great members of the Southern Bowties Club for their continued support and enthusiasm in making this club so great. Thanks to everyone and we will see you on Saturday. If you have any questions, feel free to ask, and no you don't have to bring your ride out to join in on the fun. It looks like we'll have a great turnout. We've had more register this year than last. This event will be held rain or shine! Be sure to register for the Hot Wheels drag racing, lug nut toss and raffle for some great prizes.

Hey Kenny, haven't seen you around here in a while. I know you've been quite busy with your truck's transformation.
8 hours and counting! The Hot Wheels drag strip is ready, so let's go!! I'm so excited about tomorrow that I can't sleep. I'll be sure to post pics for those that couldn't make it. |
