Window regulator roller replacement
My 83 C20 needs the plastic rollers for the power window regulators replaced. They are riveted in place on the end of the regulator arms. Where can I get replacement rollers and how are they replaced? Can you just pry off the plastic roller from the rivet and snap on a new one, or does the rivet have to be drilled out. If the rivet has to come out, how is that removed and replaced?
My AC Delco power window replacement lasted only about 3 years. I think the stuck rollers overheated/overworked the window. I probably have to do both windows. Thanks. |

Re: Window regulator roller replacement
Drill it out and the new roller comes with a new brad. Jay

We sell most all window parts no matter how small. Last edited by mbgmike; 03-20-2010 at 11:02 AM. Reason: added pic |

Thanks for the information. Do you have any suggestions on how to remove and reinstall the rivet?

Re: Window regulator roller replacement
Thanks. Is it possible to just pry off the nylon wheel and replace it? There seems to be enough wiggle room between the metal ball end of the rivet and the inside of the nylon wheel to pry it off, but I am reluctant to experiment without a replacement handy. I see that the nylon wheels are sold separately for some GM vehicles - so that got me thinking that I might be able to leave the rivet in place.

I am not an expert on all the options out their as these rollers are used by many mfgs through the years and their are all kinds of rollers. It may fit and work well, i don't know for sure. Ford did have a better idea on theirs with the c-clip to make replacement easier. |

Re: Window regulator roller replacement
How can I order a box of 25 pieces for $25 from your website? I don't see a listing there. I think I will just get a handful and start to experiment. Thanks.

We have not listed them on the site. We offer too many parts to get them all on there. We really need to split up and have more sites. You can call the order in on Monday. If you want to buy a few, since your a member I can cut the price to $1.50 each . I assume you want the ones that revit on. Mike |
