New stuff on my truck & more 20's pics

got the drop spindles in now. Also had my heads and new intake powdercoated chrome (looks like polished aluminum). I also repainted my firewall and have been doing lots of detailing.

that is one of the nicest trucks i have seen, looks great. I think the tires look good, what sizes of wheel and tire and back spacing do you have on it? Im saving these pics to my hard drive, keep up the good work.

Nice, longbeds just look cool when they are lowered. Keep up the good work. By the way, where did you get the "chrome" powder coat?

Truck looks great, but I still just can't understand why anyone would wanna put wagon wheels on a good ole truck for. Call me weird (or whatever you want) but I just don't see the point in having a wheel any bigger than 15". Your truck is sharp, but I just don't care for the wheels. Just my opinion.

Thumbs up

I would rather look at a nice wheel filling the fender gap, than the ugly side wall of a tire filling it. If you look at the shape of the wheel opening on the fender, its just screaming for large diameter wheels. Just my opinion.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Talking like what I see

I like the look you are going for, I have the same wheels for my truck, I should have them on next week. I just finished bagging my short bed. those 20's should tuck nice. As far as tire size, I think it is perfect. I like the simple body styling of the classic filled wiht the new look and style of large wheels and low profile tires. Keep up the good work and I will post more pics of mine when I get the wheels on.

Thanks alot for the comments. I'm not completely sold on the tiny side wall I have, but I got the tires for cost (dad works for Firestone) so thats what I bought. I would like to maybe get 245/40's or 255/40's for the front and 295/40's for the rear, but I already paid $1,000 for these tires.
Wheel and tire specs are
20X8 front 4.5" bs w/ 245/35/20 Bridgestone Pole Position S-03's
20X9.5 rear 4.5" bs w/ 275/30/20 S-03's also

There is a place up in Hecla SD that does powdercoating. He had the chrome powder coat. Looks sweet.

The color is Intense Blue Pearlcoat from 98 Dodge's

I want clear lenses, but I burned out my budget already so I'll have to wait for another few paychecks. I'll have them though. Want smooth clears for the side though and nobody makes them.

Thanks again.

72chevylwb: How do you think a 295/50 on a 20 or a 305/50 on a 20 would fit on the rear? Its a tall ass tire, bout 32 inch i think. Sweet lookin truck, I like the down in the weeds look.

Norcal_Guy73: That is an awesome pic, I hope mine looks that good.

The truck is looking good. Getting the wheels up in the well a little makes all the difference. Have you had the chance to drive your truck much since you completed the 5.5 front drop. Was wondering if you had any clearance problems with the front tires during normal driving. Thats about the same stance that I want for my truck but I've always wondered how much you could tuck the tire without it rubbing during a hard corner. Did you smooth your intake before you had it coated or was it blasted and prepped by the coater. I was thinking of polishing my intake but now I'm leaning toward the coating. Keep up the good work.

Maybe a long shot, but see if there are any for late '80s GM vans? That's what I used for my smooth sidemarkers...amber and red, though, I'm personally not a fan of clears but that's just me.

Hopefully tomorrow I will be able to drive it. I cranked the wheels all the way and had people bounce the truck and it bottoms out about 1/2" before the tire could possibly hit the fender. I haven't had the inners in yet though. Taller tire would definately rub. And you have to move your brake line brackets if you go that low too.

The intake was just prepped and coated, no sanding at all. The powder smoothed it out almost completely.
