Changing out front end, 68

Can I put a front end in from a 72 under my 68 P/U so I will have disc brakes? Is there an adapter from the 5 lugs to 6 lugs so I don't have to buy new rims? While I'm asking, what rear ends do you guys think I should use, for better handling?
Thanks, pictures to follow, this one will be "sweet"

Re: Changing out front end, 68

to the forum!

This kind of swap has been done many times. You can access the search function and find 'em.

As for 6-lug vs. 5-lug rotors....I have Early Classic Enterprises drop spindles and 6-lug rotors on my '69. If I want to go with the 5 on 5 (71-up) rotors, it's easy. Just remove the caliper, and replace the rotor with stock, off of the shelf, 5-lug rotors. My thinking is that you can also go the other way and keep your 6-lug pattern intact. But, you'd have to buy the rotors from someone like ECE, McGaugheys', etc. ECE rotors are not re-drilled 5-lug rotors. They warn us that not all of them on the market place are.
