cross member...?

Hey guys i have an 82 halfton long box that is pretty low to the ground, and i'm having a bit of trouble with the exhaust dragging right at the cross member, i was wondering if the was any after market cross members out there or if i'll have to do something else with it.

Re: cross member...?

There are several aftermarket crossmembers available. That won't help your exhaust concerns though.

Re: cross member...?

Are you running headers and if so long or short tube? If you run long tube headers they hang to low and will drag and will have to use short headers.

Re: cross member...?

there long headers, i was afraid of that, thats the only real low point of the truck is were the exhaust goes under the trans cross member on the driver side. the passenger side looks good no dragging problems or any thing...

if there is any links to these cross member parts could you send them.

Re: cross member...?

I have long tubes on my truck and they don't hang any lower than the transmission cross member
