Cool New '73 LWB project quick questions

I'm new on here and love the site, just looking for some answers.

Where is the best place to buy a flip kit and what else does it take to get a 4/6 drop on a low budget?

I can't figure out why my brake lights aren't working after tracing wires from back to front. Is the switch on the pedal something that commonly goes out and could I buy a new one at a parts store?

Has anyone shaved their gas caps and put them on the inside of the bed? Any special challenges there?

Thanks! I should be posting my first pics tomorrow. I just bought the truck two weeks ago so far I have:
-tuned up and re-timed the engine
-installed a new dash
-painted the exterior and wheels
-filled a ton of trim holes
-installed a tiny hot rod mirror in place of the two camper special monster mirrors
-bought a seat cover
-fixed the dome light door switches
-and cleaned up the 350

more to come!

I've been having a blast driving and working on it and hope to drop and restore it ASAP with help from all of you. It will eventually be a flat burnt orange colored, big black rimmed beauty.
