Bilstein shocks

I will retry with more info. It's time for me to buy new shocks for the 61. I want to use Bilstein shocks, But the manufacturer does not list an app for 60-62 trucks. Are there any other truck apps that cross reference for front shocks, stock height?

Re: Bilstein shocks

I can only suggest searching other catalogs (Monroe is a good one) for a shock that will interchange. Once you know that info, re-check the Bilstein applications & see if they list the interchange option.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Re: Bilstein shocks

just measure the distance between the mounting location and make sure that the dimensions on the shock you are using allows travel positive and negative. only time i ever got replacement struts/shocks based pm the vehicle was for my stock height car i have. all my other vehicles i measured cause the ride height was differant from stock. i love bilsteins...they make good shocks

Re: Bilstein shocks

hey no problem... hope those work out for ya'!

I've been scoping them out myself at that place for a little bit now. But I have never ordered from them so I can't speak first-hand about their customer service...

But, I've always had great luck with Bilstein in the past, and right now trying to consider if it's worth the double cost to go with them on a project where I'm already strapped for cash! Might just go with cheaper KYB's or Doetch-techs for the time being.

Please be sure to let us know how these compare with the measurements you take though! I'd be interested to hear as well.

Bilstein makes some of the best shock absorbers out there IMO. As well as King if you've got the cash and the know how, or know someone with the experience/knowledge to valve them properly for your application. Sway a way and some others out there have great product as well.
A lot of people with track cars use Penske's too, but same deal as the Kings...

I've got to say, if you live anywhere where there is salt, or you aren't the type of person who waxes your suspension parts weekly, do NOT get the fox's. Mine on my Sierra are corroded to heck!
