Re: lowering questions

You have to be more specific about the truck. What year? 1/2 ton? 3/4 ton? etc.

From the factory, the rear of the truck sits approx 2" higher vs. the front so that when loaded w/cargo, the rear of the truck doesn't squat excessively.

When lowering the ride height, most people want to remove the factory 2" stagger which is why drops are listed as 2/4 (2" front drop, 4" rear drop); 3/5; 4/6; 5/7, etc. . ....

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.

Yes, you can still carry a normal payload capacity; it will just require the proper set-up.

There is no one correct answer. You just need to plan your drop w/not compromising payload capacity. I suggest air bags on the rear to be 100% able to set the ride height where you want it & still adjust for loads.

Ride Tech offers a rear 'kit' that has everything you need.

Their 'Cool-Ride' kits are not priced bad for getting simple, bolt-on stuff that a novice can install. What kit were you looking @ & what is your budget?
