Thoughts on these for a flip kit

Was going to do an axle flip, shopping for some weld on perches ran across these. If everything would hold fine would come in pretty handy because you could adjust you pinion angle without shims if you changed your setup. Considering you have the u-bolts cranked down and holding things together anyone see any reason not to give them a try. $50 compared to $150 seems pretty good to me. I guess you could scribe the axle housing and if you noticed anything slipping you could always just weld them up.

Re: Thoughts on these for a flip kit

I don't see why they wouldn't work, that's what they are designed for. Having said that I made a rookie mistake bagging my 88. I tacked the spring perches on, installed the u-bolts(2 on each side) and forgot to finish welding them. On the first test run the tacks broke and the rear end twisted. I personally wouldn't use anything that wasn't welded just for the extra piece of mind.

i use 3in axle perches all the time when i build flip kits, works great, go to your local trailer supply or a place that builds them, they will sell the perches to you cheap.

That's what I've used on the last few I've done as well.
