Re: "The way it is" 67'swb

did some work on my cab and had opened up the side vent boxes. the passenger side was rusted and buldging at the seam and had cleaned a bunch of junk out when i tour my truck apart. but to my suprise when i had gotten them of they look great! clean up the rust paint it and weld it back together! i had added 2 holes to either side at the lowest spots to help with water drainage.

slick I was going to por15 it but was worried about welding it then and what happen to it, so i used weldable primer and will paint the inside.

well was able to get some work done with the long weekend. i got my vent boxes buttoned up and got my engine completely done. got all the power steering hooked up and got my new alternator. i was not thrilled with the chrome finish but actually think it breaks it up and could not beat the price for a 1 wire hookup, internal reg and 110 amps.
the only think i am having trouble with is when i go lock to lock it has 1" to go on the pass side but the gearbox runs out of movement and can go/push past lock on driverside. do i have my pitman arm not in the right position on the gearbox? i thought i had it centered but must not have? if i am thinking correctly it goes in 1/4 incriments on the spine and am not sure if i just need to move it 1/4 turn in the correct direction so that it has the same distance? let me know what you guys think or if anyone ele has ran into this. thanks, enough rambling here are the pics.
