Keyless entry with shaved doors

So while tinkering with the truck today I decided on shaving the door handles. Now after doing some research on whats all needed and such I found that if I install a keyless entry system and use that to activate the solenoids it would work correct? Anyone know of a keyless entry that unlocks the driver door with one press of the remote, then the other with a second press? I really dont want both doors opening every time I go to get in.

Re: Keyless entry with shaved doors

just wire the drivers door to the keyless entry and a pushbutton on your door panel or even with the door handle on the inside lke above your 4x10 speaker. just pop the passenger door as you get in. i did ths years ago. i actually had buttons in both locations and on the insde of the passenger door too since i removed the inside handles too. always wanted to use the factory manual door locks and turn them into a manual backup, was scared of the solenoids not workng and me stuck inside or out of it, but never happened and i was lazy.....just a thought tho

Re: Keyless entry with shaved doors

Thats actually what im pretty sure ill end up doing, just wiring the driver door to the keyless and open the passenger from the inside. Its just easier lol.

And thanks for the idea about the push button for the passenger side. Ill keep it in mind.

Thanks texasfunk! Looking at the site now and that looks perfect. Might even come in cheaper than the route I was planning on taking.

.........awaiting arrival of their bolt in actuators for my S-10 as we type. A friend of mine told me the AVS actuators are why he again loves his shaved handles. I'm stoked because right now, I really dislike shaved handles.

Re: Keyless entry with shaved doors

I use my outside door locks as a manual backup in case my battery ever goes dead... has saved me a vew times. stick the key in and turn, and it will pop the latch (old skool style)

Re: Keyless entry with shaved doors

My kit is from avs also and love it. Easy install, 2 remotes, and backup switch to open the door incase the remote goes dead. The only thing I had to do was extend the wires to use for suicide doors.

Re: Keyless entry with shaved doors

If I had a dollar for everytime I locked myself out of my truck.... One thing for sure is when my truck is finally finished I WILL HAVE an AVS unit with a *silent* alarm.

Re: Keyless entry with shaved doors

answer for the first post.. yes its possible, search for a alarm called autopage, most of their alarms have multiple channels to where you can re program them for what ever,,, I remeber we did my friends , even wire the remote to control the airbags
