what would you do?
heres an interesting scenerio...
you and your wife or family are driving down a paved tow lane road when all of a sudden there is a large pile of rocks on your side of the road, mainly on the shoulder but extending out into your lane 2ft or so? no barricades. You have no time to brake or swurve as there is oncoming headlights. You hit the 20 ton pile of millings and it rips your right front wheel from the truck enabling abs and steering... what do you do now?

Re: what would you do?
1. Make sure everybody is OK
2. Be thankful it was only one rim/tire - if more it could have been worse 2. Move your rig to a safe location 3. Make some sort of sign to alert the next guy to slow down/go back 4. Call the DOT and alert them of the debris on the road 5. Call for a tow 6. Call your insurance agent and see if you qualify for a comprehensive deductible [road debris usually is] |

Re: what would you do?
If you can find out who put the stones there you can make them pay for your damages. I hit a big ditch in the road with my 62 Ford car. The company that dug the ditch did not have any warning devices up, so they bought me a new rear bumper.

Re: what would you do?
Back up, put the tire or spindle on top of the pile and snap a "poser" shot.

As an aside, that's exactly what we did: when we flew out to Montana to drive my truck back we found it sitting in the shed with the bed full of rocks, firewood, spare tires, etc. We left the rocks in the bed, both for ballast (it was March of last year) and so that we could use them at home for landscaping -

Re: what would you do?
I've found that if you swerve at other cars, they generally move out of the way

Re: what would you do?
Still got over 20 mpg; it's a 4.3 V6 (TBI) with the manual overdrive trans. K
