I've still got a long way to go with my 66 Chevy and some how I find myself constantly making offers for these old trucks when I find them. So I found a really nice 1/2 ton GMC yesterday and bought it at a steal. It's got the 305 V6 with a 4 speed behind it. Chrome grill and bumper, no dents, and only one small cancer spot on fender. I'm going to pick it up today and I will post pics later this evening. Apperently all it needs is a set of spark plugs to run so hopfully I will be driving it home. If not I will have to trailer it. But either way I now own another one of these awesome trucks to feed my addiction.

PS. It's a good thing I had a little cash set aside for what I call my project budget. Otherwise I'd be talking about my divorce right about now.

I've always argued the truck hobby is cheaper than a girlfriend (or divorce). At least this way your wife knows where you are and what you're doing!

Well, I had to pass on the deal. The truck was a complete POS. I asked the guy if there were any major dents in the truck. He said no, and that the body was good and straight all the way around. Well, when I went to look at it I found that the whole passenger side was wiped out. There was a huge gapeing hole ripped into the pass. side cab right behind the door and the whole door needed replace. (not just reskinned). And I asked the guy what he thought might be the cause of it not running. He said it just needs a set of plugs. When I popped the hood I found a total mess. Nothing was hocked up it seemed and the exhause was just hanging loose. I wasted a day and a tank of gas cause this guy couldn't be staight up with me and answer all my questions about the truck honestly. I couldn't have even used this thing for parts.

The grill on the truck was real nice though.

Bummer. I'm always amazed how a person can confuse "good and straight" with "the whole side is torn off". I was offered a hood last year with a "minor scratch" on top. Upon inspection it was clear the defect was a tad bigger and deeper than a scratch, and could easily hold several quarts of water without spilling a drop.
