Hmm I think this is one of the weird GMC ones.

C= Conventional
E= eight cyl
1 = 1/2 ton
OD = Fleetside /wideside box
Z = Fremont assembly plant
A= 1969
23008 = sequential serial number

Now the model number

C= Conventional
E = eight cyl
1 = 1/2 ton
57 is the cab to rear axle distance ... so you would think 57 inches but GMC used the number 57 to represent 42 inches actually... and chev use 07 to represent 42 inches.
0D = fleetside/wideside box

all of the top of my head ... could of made a mistake.. but I think thats right.

So what is it ... I'd say its a 67 GMC shortbox fleetside... you didn't say.

Simple

CE238F172295

C= conventional
E = eight cyl
2 = 3/4 ton
3 = no box...ordered as a cab and chassis
8 = 1968
F = Flint assembly plant
172295 = sequential serial number

Have a nice day,.eh

Ok I modded my decode post.. GMC did some different things with vins.. I believe in this case they used a letter for the year
C=1967
B = 1968
A =1969

Just something I observed.
