Re: driveshaft question

I don't know if anyone is going to have a correct answer for this (who hasn't done that type of switch). the only thing i can think of doing would be to measure the difference between the old PG short tail and new PG long tail, and have the driveshaft shorted by that amount. otherwise you could try finding the front section of a 2-piece, that would be the correct length, at a junk yard or so.

Re: driveshaft question

cdowns probably gave the best advice but check with the driveshaft shop to see exactly how they want it measured. They can give you better advice on what will be cheapest also.A new shaft (front piece) may be cheaper than shortening and balancing the old one(unlikely but you never know). They may also recommend a quality "carrier bearing".Upgraded u-joints may be another option to look into.I don't like to get dirt in my eye so this is one area I feel is better done once right than over.
I am also safety concious about driveshafts since I saw an endo from a bad front joint.

Re: driveshaft question

Take both halves of the drive shaft to the shop so that they can be balanced as a "unit."
