Fan Shroud

I have a 1970 truck with 454 motor and I am missing the fan shroud, Does anyone know where I can get one that will work as a direct bolt in. Thanks

if its a 2wd you can get one brand new from the restoration outfits for a 402 equipped truck. if you have a 4x4 with a big block, take a look at the 73 and up shrouds....that what mine is

To add to the above comments, If you have a short water pump, then follow the above advice.
If you have a long water pump, then trial and error unless someone has already figured out what will work.

I know you are looking for a direct bolt in but its not hard to quickly fab something up. I am eventually going to get one, but for the time being I modified a small block plastic one I had.

I will try to post pics tonight, but basically I cut the top tabs off and trimmed any other areas for clearance with a jigsaw using a fine tooth blade. It mades for clean smooth cuts. Then I took some 2x2 right angle iron stock and cut them to the size I wanted for the top tabs and mounted them to the shroud with bolts. It was pretty easy and doesn't require any fancy tools. A guy could do it all with a hack saw and drill. And then on the bottom I spaced it out with some small rubber bushings I had and had to drill some new holes. Should work for the time being and was done completely with stuff I had laying around other than the bolts...but that was just some odd change. Better than the $100+ they want for new ones.

I had to narrow the bit around the fan an inch or two and notch it to clear the alternator pulley, but the stock BBC shroud works fine on my LWP setup. However, the fan blades are entirely within the shroud, so I do lose some effectiveness.

As long as your fan is large enough to fill the hole in the shroud, you will move plenty of air. Its better to be a little too far into the shroud, than too far out of it. Also, if your fan has a spacer between it and your water pump, you can consider buying a shorter spacer to bring the fan closer to the engine. Hope this helped

When we put the 454 in my '71 not long ago we used a BB shroud out of a '74 C-30.

We had to notch the shroud to clear the alternator, power steering pump and crank pulley.

It came out pretty good, I did have to make a cover at the top to take up the space between the radiator and the shroud.

The fan is inside a little farther than normal, but the engine runs plenty cool.

I fired up the "Beast" today and took it for a short drive.

I meant clear at the bottom of the fan shroud section, not bottom of the page.
