Edelbrock 8711 spacer problems
Well just installed a a Edelbrock 8711 spacer on my truck, previously just had a 1/2" open bore aluminum spacer. truck has Edelbrock performer intake, 1405 card , an now i have a noticible vacuum leak from the left rear {passenger side} carb stud. Installed a brand new Felpro base gasket an spacer to carb paper gasket, any one else had problems or is currently running this spacer?? Ive tried several times to reset everything with no luck am I missing something??

Re: Edelbrock 8711 spacer problems
are you sure its not a vacc leak from dead center, back of carb? If so, i had this problem. You have a spread bore intake /w/ a square bore carb, using a SQUAREBORE spacer... not adapter.
you will need to return it and ask for a "SQUAREBORE carb to SPREAD-BORE intake spacer adapter." but i could have misunderstood what you said and be totaly wrong |

Re: Edelbrock 8711 spacer problems
I would check the new spacer for flatness if it didn't leak with the old spacer.

Re: Edelbrock 8711 spacer problems
I just put one of those on my Son's truck. The mounting took little time and there were no leaks. You may have gotten a warped one, as stated above or your gasket is not sitting right.
