SM465/NP205 coupling
Just about ready to swap in the NP205 but need to know which direction the snap ring in the splined coupling goes. Does the snap ring go toward the transfer case or transmission? My first guess is transfer case so the coupling isn't sliding back and forth into the adapter seal. Anyone know for sure?

hmmmm. I put one in backwards one time and it filled the TC with transmission fluid.
IIRC, the shallow end goes towards the trans. (the end with the snap ring).

Doing some digging around the internet, some show the coupler with two snaprings. When I split the trans and t-case mine only had one but grooves for two. Does it take one or two snap rings? If only one...which way would it go?
