5 lug to 8 lug...

I want to convert my 72 stepside from a 5 lug to a 8 lug and then run adapters to make it a 10 lug, were do I start?

I would start by locating a C20 for a parts donor.

Re: 5 lug to 8 lug...

You'll need to change your front suspension to a '71-'87 C20 suspension and then switch your rear differential to a full floating C20 rear such as a 14 bolt, Dana 60, Dana 70, etc.

If I may ask, why do you want to run 10 lug wheels?

Re: 5 lug to 8 lug...

I haven't been able to get the c-10 from fast n furious out of my head. I want to do something a little different with my truck. even though I am considering dually rims I don't plan on running 6 rims. I know i sound like I am doing things bass ackwards but it is what it is. Thanks for the info.

Re: 5 lug to 8 lug...

Try getting the suspension out of a dually... you will need the giant spacer front rotor to clear those beefy things. And, run duals in the rear, or it might look unsavory.
