sub in the corner
Well, for those of you that have wondered if a bazooka will fit in the passender side corner of our trucks. It will... although I have to ride one inch closer to the front.

FILICE72C10,
Thanks for the info. I assume you have a bench seat. I wonder if it would work with my 68 buckets, as the passenger side is in a fixed position. Any idea? Thanks, Ken

Not sure this is my first truck and I have only had the bench. I would install the sub in the middle of the buckets. I think I have seen a picture of that before.
This is a better pic, i think i figured out my paint program.

I don't know much about sound systems, but is there any problems having that so close to the fuel tank lines, etc?

move the gas tank under the bed and you can install a good sized box behind the seats

moving the tank may come next year. As for the sub being close to the tank... it shouldnt be a problem, the tube is about 8 inches away and strapped to the corner. I will let you guys know how it sounds next week when I get a chance to finish the head unit install.

it is a 6 inch RS bazooka. IT has dual voice coils and I am going to power it with a 400 watt MTX amp under the seat. It should rock.

Just curious where you bought your sub. I've seen them on ebay.

Thanks for the update. I am going to have to go look at those. That looks like an ideal solution. How did you mount it?

That is exactly what I have in my truck, but I had to replace the speaker itself because it blew out. I have a replacement dual voice coil speaker in there, and it sounds great. If you turn it up and put your hand over the port, you can tell it is moving a lot of air.
Your install looks great as does the rest of the truck Cheers Richard

i mounted the speaker using the mount supplied with the tub. I used the removed the factory jack handle spring that is mounted with a screw into the door frame and used the same screw to mount the platic strap mount for the bass tube. All i did my dynamat the cab corner and then lay out some foam to keep the sub from bouncing around. I strapped it up and its not going anywhere.
Landon- The paint shop that did the truck is Hougue Brothers in hollister across the street from Rovella's Gym. Tell them Julio refered you. I wont be in hollister this next weekend but knock on the door and my dad will gladly show yout he truck.
