I did a brake job on my first car when I was living in an apartment in Chicago. We had 8" of snow in the parking lot, and I had to get to Tennessee to see my Dad in a hospital. It's true what they say "Neccesity is a MOTHER!"

I had a few days off around Christmas, and I was determined to get my K20 going. Wind chills around 10 below zero made life miserable, but I stuck with it...For a few hours anyway.....

Actually it is, but my '94 Z28 is my garage queen/my first car/bodywork in progress, so it will always get priority in the garage. It fits half the garage, the other half is all my random parts/ half an lt1 car and random stuff from recent house remodeling. If you look closely, you can see it in there:

Another problem is my garage depth is 215inches. These longbeds measure (at least my measurement) is 218 inches. So neither of my 2 trucks will ever fit in the garage.

I try not to work in the rain unless I have to. Now snow, that's easier--as long as it's not melting and I have a piece of cardboard.

Changed a starter in the snow back in January (I live in an apartment, too) but I actually was ready to answer a "How far will you go..." question in miles...went 120 on christmas from here to Lexington, SC in part because I could change my radiator there the next day. Of course Christmas dinner and presents helped the decision, though.

Snow, cold weather, what's that hahaha. And anytime I want Christmas time, I just drive 5 miles away. There's actually a town called Christmas here in Florida, you just have to pass Bithlo (redneck central...aka the nightmare before Christmas)

on an old Civic I had a long time ago, I did a trans R&R in a monsoon type of rain storm. I was laying in 4 or so inches of water the whole time. It sucked big time... I was on vacation here in Ohio, but was stationed in texas at the time.

Rebuilt a 6 cyl in a basement. Carried it up 5 stairs, set it on a tire and slid it across the snow. I had used a swing set frame to pull a motor with a come-a-long. Pushed the truck out from under and hooked the other motor up and pushed it back under the rebuilt by hand. Changed it and had it running in four hours. Did this all outside, 0 wind chill and it snowed the whole time I was working. Did everything outside, except the motor rebuild which I had done the previous weekend.

If it's freezing a$$ cold and raining; maybe. There would have to be circumstances that meant that this was going to be my only vehicle available to me.
