got my new wheels today

Well at least 3 of them. They are series 33 wheel vintiques, 15" x 8" with 4" backspacing and imo they look sweet. I have done disc brakes all the way around and have no problem with the rears. They fit good back there. The fronts also fit but there is about 1/4" clearance max with the outer tie rod end. I don't yet know whats going to happen when I got the front end on the ground. Is this going to work or is it too close? Do I need to look at going to a 15" x 7" on the front??? Here are some pictures:

Re: got my new wheels today

I think you'll be good to go on the front. The distance between your wheel and spindle should never change.

Re: got my new wheels today

You'll prob need to use adhesive wheel weights vs. traditional clamp-on style weights.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

I run 15's with the same clearance, and the weights on the inside don't hit, so you will be fine.

Re: got my new wheels today

Changing the wheel width will not affect the distance to the steering knuckle; decreasing the back spacing does this.

Like others have said though you should have no issues.

Re: got my new wheels today

Thanks for the info. I wasn't sure if I needed to go another route on the front or not.

Re: got my new wheels today

I Just got my wheels today too!! I went with 15"x8" & 15"x7" large I.D. Rallys. Had to special order them from Early Wheel in CA. They come with a larger inside diameter to clear Calipers, tie rods, etc. They take a 15" tire but have the I.D. of a 16". Took about 4 weeks to get. They're Chrome with steel centers that I'm going to paint dark gray metallic and I have Disc Brake Caps to put on - Cant' wait to get on... will post pics when I get them mounted.
