Re: front axle swap?

I believe '91 is your cutoff. Correct me If I am wrong but this is the last year of the K5 and subsequently the last year of a solid front axle.

Re: front axle swap?

any chevy solid front axle will work... dana44 or 10-bolt... Do you have power steering? Might as well look into that upgrade as well then while you're at it...

I have an 82 corp 10-bolt on my 68 now...

Re: front axle swap?

Thanks guys,I have power steering. I'm sure there will be brake hose and master cylinder issues.

Re: front axle swap?

New brake hoses to match the year of your axle (they went metric on the calipers at some point) and a master with proportioning valve...

Re: front axle swap?

88-91 MIGHT have metric lugs. Don't remember for sure, but they changed to 14mm on the redesigned trucks and may have changed the others as well.
